Madchen V. J. Funk
B.A. (Hons.), J.D.
Madchen is a graduate of the University of Guelph, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice & Public Policy. She earned her Juris Doctor degree at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2016.
During her time in law school, Madchen worked for Pro Bono Students Canada as a Program Coordinator and was an elected member of the Students’ Law Society. In her final year, she spent a semester studying at the University of Glasgow. Madchen received the Nancy Park Book Prize in International Women’s Rights from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2015.
Madchen was a summer student at GGFI and also completed her articling term with the firm before being called to the Ontario bar in 2017. Madchen focuses on civil litigation and family law, while also assisting clients with real estate transactions, estate administration, and estate planning.
In her free time, Madchen enjoys travelling, hiking, and trying new foods.
