John has been practising law for over 35 years. After graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University in 1977 he attended the University of Western Ontario where he graduated from the joint MBA LLB program in 1982. In 1989 he went into a practice with Reginald Haney and Mary Anne Haney and has more recently joined GGFI in July, 2019. His practice is involved primarily in corporate, wills and estate administration matters.
John has served on a number boards of directors for both non-profit and other organizations. These included the Region of Waterloo Swim Club, Elmira and Woolwich Chamber of Commerce and the Woolwich Community Services. John is presently an active member of the Elmira Kiwanis Club and appreciates the fun, camaraderie and opportunity to make a difference that this service club provides.
John is married and has three adult children and is a proud grandfather of four (hopefully more). John has been active in ministries at the church which he attends. He and his wife enjoy silviculture, long distance hiking, canoeing and travel in general, especially when it involves the grandchildren or Scotland.
